Pasteurizer Operators Workshop Offered At Penn State
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Pasteurizer Operators Workshop will be offered by Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences, Nov. 10-12 at the Atherton Hotel in State College and at Borland Laboratory on the University Park campus.
The workshop is designed primarily for pasteurizer operators working in milk plants. However, people working in plants processing juice or water also will benefit from participation in the course.
The workshop will include sessions with Penn State faculty covering milk composition, the general principles of heat transfer and microbiology. Paul Hoge of the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will discuss the regulatory testing of HTST, or high temperature short time, equipment. Practical skills will be gained through hands-on labs.
