Penn State College Of Agricultural Sciences Awards $1.5 Million In Scholarships
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Cost Of College Went Down This Year For More Than 675 Students In Penn State's College Of Agricultural Sciences. They Were Recipients Of More Than $1.5 Million In Awards Through The College's Scholarship And Awards Program, Supported By Annual And Endowed Gifts From Friends And Alumni. This Scholarship Program Is The Largest At Penn State.
Scholarship recipients are chosen based on a variety of criteria, including standard measurements such as financial need and academic standing. Other considerations are given to students with leadership skills, international experience and 4-H membership, for example.
The scholarship program in the College of Agricultural Sciences continues to grow. Recently, three new scholarship funds became available. These scholarships are based solely on financial need and will award a total of more than $113,000 to students in 2004-2005.
