Presidential Campaign Comes To The College Of Ag Sciences

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --Before addressing a crowd estimated at more than 20,000 on the Old Main lawn Sunday afternoon (March 30), Illinois Sen. Barack Obama visited the College of Agricultural Sciences’ dairy complex. There, he learned about dairy nutrition, milk safety and the importance of agricultural research authorized by the Farm Bill now making its way through Congress. Among those accompanying Obama were Pennsylvania U.S. Senator Bob Casey; Robert Steele, dean of the college; Terry Etherton, Distinguished Professor of Animal Nutrition and head of the Dairy and Animal Science Department; Virginia “Ginny” Ishler, manager of the dairy complex; and several students.
