UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- With tractor-rollover demonstrations, a tractor-accident rescue demonstration, free health screenings and on-site agricultural emergency specialists, this year's version of Penn State's Ag Progress Days, Aug. 15-17, focuses on the health and safety of farmers like never before. New this year will be youth safety educational experiences provided by Cargill Inc. "Farmers won't want to miss the farm-safety demonstration area, Agricultural Health and Safety tent and the AgrAbility and Agromedicine Tent," says Dennis Murphy, distinguished professor of agricultural engineering and coordinator of the farm safety area of the event.

UNIVERSITY PARK Pa. - For horse enthusiasts and their families it might be the ultimate summer vacation. The equine science program in Penn State's College of Agricultural Science will offer a horse camp, July 13-16, designed to appeal to every ability level, from those new to riding to the experienced equestrian. "This event will help both youth and adult owners with the care, training and riding of their horses," says Ann Swinker, associate professor of equine science and extension horse specialist. "This is a safe and exciting way to get involved in horse activities."
