Martha Stewart Visits Penn State
Martha Stewart

Popular cooking, decorating, and gardening expert Martha Stewart visited the College of Agricultural Sciences this summer. Pictured here in front of Borland Laboratory, Stewart did drop by the University Creamery—but the primary purpose of her trip to Happy Valley was to visit with horticulturist Michael Orzolek. For an article in an upcoming issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine, Orzolek guided Stewart around the college’s horticulture farm and shared the results of his research on using plasticulture and colored mulch to improve plant growth.
